- Aesthetic concrete finishing surrounding the Courthouse and surrounding sidewalks
- Paving and street finish work to complete the final streetscape project
Challenges to Overcome:
During the Troy West Main Street Project project, we faced several challenges that required innovative solutions and meticulous planning:
- Traffic pattern changes, road closures and detours
- Block being completely closed due to the historical building being deemed unsafe
- Business owners being frustrated due to difficulty entering their establishments
- Unexpected underground findings
How We Overcame the Challenges:
Double Jay Construction along with the City of Troy employed several strategies to overcome these challenges:
- Announcing new traffic patterns and road closures with adequate notice and ensuring proper signage to provide alternate routes
- Avoided block that was “closed” for the time it was closed. Returned to work once the block was reopened and worked with the City of Troy to complete remaining work.
- Maintained open communication with the community and business owners, providing access to entrances to all businesses
- Worked through underground findings as needed. Some of great historical reference and contacted community members of interest.
The successful completion of the City Hall project stands as a testament to our dedication to excellence, innovative problem-solving, and strong partnerships with skilled contractors. This project not only enhanced the recreational facilities but also ensured the park remains a beloved community asset for years to come.
